My new colouring book is now available! It’s called Happy Words Inspirational Colouring Book, and it has thirty new text-based designs.
This book is designed for adults and older kids who are looking for fun, uplifting designs to colour. Each page has an illustration based around a different positive word. It can be easy to get distracted by negativity, and time spent focusing on good-feeling words can help with getting back into a better headspace. Each word has a different lettering style, and the illustrations include a mix of abstract patterns, animals, flowers and cute kawaii characters, so there’s plenty of variety.
I started work on this book way back in 2016, and it actually began life as a swear words book! Those books were very popular back then (and still are), and I thought it might be fun to make one. But after sketching out the rough designs, I realised it just wasn’t the kind of thing I wanted to put my energy into. Not that I’m opposed to swearing, but I felt like a book of positive words was more in line with the overall vibe I want my art to have. But the work I did wasn’t wasted, as I ended up using the same fonts and lettering styles, along with many of the same illustration ideas that I began with for the sweary book. I kept putting it on the back burner while I was working on other books and projects over the next few years, but it’s finally done now 😀
You can see all thirty of the colouring pages in Happy Words here. It’s available to buy in paperback from Amazon (UK, international).
