I just finished another assignment for the art course I’m doing. This is exercise five from Block 1, and is a simple greyscale sphere. It’s painted in oil on canvas, and it’s safe to say my gradients have a lot of room for improvement!

I’m aiming to complete at least one painting a week for the course, although I didn’t manage one last week because I was busy redecorating and had no energy left for anything else. Painting walls isn’t so much fun!
I’m looking forward to the later parts of the course where the work gets more interesting, but I’m also enjoying these basic forms. I’m only five paintings in and feel like I’ve learned a lot already.
